Flash is an ugly technology. I think that HTML5 give many chances for free videoformats.
You can play YouTube Videos natively in your browser without Flash! To use this methode you must activate it at http://www.youtube.com/html5. This is very cool. They use the Video-Codec h.264. So far the following browsers are Supported:
- Firefox 4 (WebM, Release Candidate hier verfügbar)
- Google Chrome (WebM)
- Opera 10.6 oder höher (WebM, Download)
- Apple Safari (h.264, Version 4+)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 (h.264,Download, WebM-Support)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7 oder 8 mit installiertem Google Chrome Frame (Google Chrome Frame)
